Please don’t be disappointed that I am skipping Dog Collar Thursday 2 weeks in a row. I am not. I am going to write a separate article for Dog Collar Thursday later tonight.
This article is all about my 1 year old fur baby, Cashmere. I wrote about her quite a bit in my Dogs and Depression article so today, I will cover her birthday.
10 months ago, we picked up our baby and we were instantly in love. She was the only pup in her litter who walked right up to Bill and licked his hand. Needless to say Bill was a goner and I instantly loved Cash for her bravery.
We had Cash for 4 short days when we took her to the vet as she was very lethargic and was having some “body fluid issues”. We quickly learned that Cash had Parvo, a deadly puppy disease caused by exposure to fecal matter.
We had to leave our new baby at the vet and go home with the following information….IF, yes IF she made it through the night, AND her white blood cell count was in the safe range there would be a good chance that she would live.
Not wanting to taint Cash’s 1st birthday, I will say that she indeed made it through that night, her white blood cell count was in the safe range AND she was itching to get out of the vet. After Bill and I cleaned our entire home with bleach we were able to take her home.
My Buddy, Confidante, walking partner and Dear Friend turns 1 today. Happy Birthday Cashmere Torek, we love you.
We will not have a pet party as her life is a party with all her friends at the lake. We are not going to a dog bakery or baking dog cupcakes. She will get a new dog toy(stuffed giraffe with squeakers), she will get more dog biscuits than usual with peanut butter of course and most importantly, she will spend the entire day with her #1 Guy, Daddy.
Enjoy your ice cream today Cashmere. You deserve it my sweet little girl. Love Momma
